The best AI shopping assistants for WooCommerce in 2026

10 September 2026 · 9 min read

Disclosure: idea89 is one of the tools on this list — we make it. We have not put ourselves first, and every price and platform claim below was taken from that product’s own public pages and checked in September 2026. Vendors change pricing often, so follow the source links before you decide anything.

WooCommerce has the opposite problem to Magento: not too few options, but too many that look alike. The gap between the cheapest and the most expensive tool here is roughly a hundred times, and the marketing copy barely changes across that range.

We make one of these, and we have said so at the top rather than at the bottom. What follows is the part most round-ups leave out: what each actually costs including the charges that are not on the sticker, what it syncs from your store, and the reason you might not want it.

The most useful distinction on WooCommerce is where the AI runs. Some plugins call an AI provider you subscribe to separately, so the extension price is not the real price. Others run the model on their own infrastructure and charge one fee. That difference matters more to your bill than any feature on the comparison table.

The tools

Ordered by the kind of merchant each suits, not ranked. There is no single best one; there is the one that matches the problem you actually have.

AI Shopping Assistant (by JUVENTIN)

Best for: small WooCommerce stores wanting the cheapest credible option

Sold on the official WooCommerce marketplace, this is a ChatGPT-backed personal-shopper chatbot with a quick setup. For a small catalogue on a tight budget it is the lowest-cost entry point on this list by a wide margin.

Pricing
£30 for a 1-year plan, or £48 for two years, on the WooCommerce marketplace. A third-party subscription is also required.
Platforms
WooCommerce only
Worth knowing
The listed price is for the extension; the third-party AI subscription it requires is separate, so the real total is higher than the sticker.

StoreAgent

Best for: WooCommerce stores that want to start free from the plugin directory

A WordPress.org plugin that trains a chatbot on your real catalogue — titles, descriptions, attributes, variations, prices and reviews — and bundles AI content tools alongside the assistant.

Pricing
Free plugin on WordPress.org; see the plugin page for any paid tiers.
Platforms
WooCommerce only
Worth knowing
At 500+ active installations it is a smaller, younger project than most here, so weigh that against the price of zero.

Tidio (Lyro AI)

Best for: stores that need a support inbox as much as an assistant

Tidio is a live-chat and helpdesk platform, with an AI agent called Lyro layered on top. It is a mature product with a genuine free tier, and it consolidates several contact channels into one inbox, which matters if your customers reach you in more than one place.

Pricing
Free; Starter $24.17/mo; Growth from $49.17/mo; Plus from $300/mo plus usage. Lyro AI is priced separately, from $32.50/mo for 50 AI conversations.
Platforms
Shopify, Magento / Adobe Commerce, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, PrestaShop and others
Worth knowing
The plan fee, the Lyro AI allowance and human agent conversations are billed as separate lines, so the monthly total moves with how busy you were.

idea89Ours

Best for: WooCommerce stores wanting catalogue-grounded answers at a flat price

A shopping assistant rather than a helpdesk. It syncs products, variations, categories, coupons and your pages and posts, answers from them, adds to the real WooCommerce basket, and handles order tracking in chat. It works on block and classic themes with no template overrides, and the AI runs on our servers rather than your host.

Pricing
£49, £149 or £349 per month flat, including 1,000 / 10,000 / 50,000 conversations and 1 / 5 / 10 stores. No per-seat and no per-resolution charge. Free trial, no card.
Platforms
Magento 2 and Adobe Commerce, Magento 1 and OpenMage LTS, WooCommerce
Worth knowing
It is not a helpdesk. There is no ticketing, no shared inbox, and it does not process returns or refunds. If your problem is support volume rather than conversion, one of the others here fits better. It is also a young product from a small team.

Gorgias

Best for: stores whose real problem is ticket volume, not conversion

An ecommerce-native helpdesk with an AI Agent in front of it. It is built around returns, exchanges, delivery problems and order issues, and it is very good at that. It is deliberately not priced per agent, which suits growing support teams.

Pricing
Tiered by ticket volume, quoted through a calculator rather than fixed published numbers. The AI Agent is on every plan and charged when it resolves a conversation.
Platforms
Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, WooCommerce
Worth knowing
Adopting it means moving your support operation into it. That is a bigger change than installing a storefront widget, and it does little for shoppers who have not bought yet.

Alhena AI

Best for: larger stores wanting an AI suite beyond the storefront chat

A genuine AI shopping assistant rather than a helpdesk with AI attached, and it spans more surfaces than most: social commerce, review handling, voice and agent assist alongside the on-site assistant.

Pricing
Free tier; Essentials $199/mo, Growth $499/mo, Scale $999/mo billed annually; Enterprise on request. Usage runs on credits, with overage at $1.20 per credit.
Platforms
Shopify, WooCommerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud and others. Their published integrations list does not include Magento or Adobe Commerce.
Worth knowing
The first paid tier is $199/mo, which is a big step for a smaller store, and credit overages are billed on top.

How to choose

Work out the real total, not the listed price

Several WooCommerce AI plugins are cheap because they expect you to bring your own OpenAI or similar subscription. Add that in before comparing, or you will be comparing a licence fee against a full service.

Check what it syncs beyond products

Most shopper questions are not about products. "Do you ship to Ireland?" is answered from a page, not a catalogue. A tool that only indexes products will hand a surprising share of questions straight back to you.

Confirm it handles variations properly

WooCommerce variable products are where thin integrations show. A tool that cannot talk about a specific size or colour, with its own price and stock, will frustrate shoppers on any store with real variants.

Watch where the AI runs

If inference happens on your WordPress host you will feel it under load. If it happens on the vendor's infrastructure, your site is only serving a small loader. Ask which it is.

Common questions

What is the cheapest AI shopping assistant for WooCommerce?
Of the tools here, the official WooCommerce marketplace extension by JUVENTIN is the lowest sticker price at £30 for a one-year plan, and StoreAgent is a free plugin on WordPress.org. Both carry caveats: the marketplace extension also requires a separate third-party AI subscription. Checked September 2026.
Do these work with block themes and the site editor?
It varies, and it is worth asking directly. Tools that print the widget from the plugin rather than requiring a template placement generally work the same on block themes, classic themes and page builders.
Will an AI chatbot slow down my WooCommerce site?
It depends where the model runs. If inference happens on your own WordPress host it will cost you under load. If the vendor runs it on their infrastructure, your site only serves a small asynchronous loader and the impact is negligible.
Can they answer from my blog and policy pages?
Some can, some only index products. Since a large share of shopper questions are about shipping, returns and policies rather than products, this is worth checking before you buy.
How current are the prices in this article?
Every figure was taken from the vendor's own page and checked in September 2026, and each entry links its source. This category changes pricing often, so verify before deciding.

Test any of them on your own catalogue.

Whichever you shortlist, judge it on your real products rather than a demo store. Ours takes about two minutes to try, with no install and no card.
